Menge: 4 Portionen

500 Gramm altbackenes Brot (am besten Sauerteig- oder Vollkornbrot)
500 Gramm Kirschen (entsteint)
500 Milliliter ungesüßte Pflanzenmilch (zum Beispiel Mandelmilch, Hafermilch)
80 Gramm braunen Zucker
1 Teelöffel Zimt
1 Esslöffel Apfelessig (siehe Tipp)
2 Esslöffel pflanzliche Margarine (zum Beispiel Alsan)

Schneiden Sie das Brot in kleine Würfel und füllen Sie es in eine große Schüssel. Dann füllen Sie die Kirschen in ein feines Sieb, spülen sie mit kaltem Wasser ab, lassen die Kirschen gut abtropfen und entsteinen sie, bevor Sie die Kirschen in die Schüssel geben.

Danach vermischen Sie in einer weiteren Schüssel die Pflanzenmilch mit dem braunem Zucker, dem Zimt und dem Apfelessig. Anschließend gießen Sie die Flüssigkeit über die Brot-Kirsch-Mischung und mischen sie gut mit einem hartem Schneebesen durch.

Nun füllen Sie die Mischung in eine mit Margarine eingefettete Auflaufform und belegen sie zusätzlich mit kleinen Stückchen pflanzlicher Margarine.

Anschließend backen Sie das Dessert im vorgeheizten Ofen bei 180 Grad Celsius (Oberhitze/Unterhitze) für ca. 40-45 Minuten, bis die Oberfläche goldbraun ist. Den Sie den Kerscheplotzer aus dem Ofen, lassen ihn etwas abkühlen und servieren das Dessert zum Schluss Ihren Gästen.
